BIO
Lanous Tramel Wright II is a multi disciplinary artist, born and raised in Atlanta, GA. Born in 1994, he was raised by a mother and father who were first generation college graduates, higher education and creative expression was encouraged through the household for him and his older sister. In his earliest years in childhood, his parents fostered his talent to draw and play sports throughout grade school. During his junior and senior years in high school, his AP Art teacher, Catherine Prestine, helped harness his artistic abilities and anxious personality to encourage him to pursue an art career and apply for the Art Institute of Atlanta.
After graduating in 2012, Lanous pursued a major in Illustration for 2 years at AIA before becoming a father of his son, Tramel Oliver Wright, at the age of 20. He then jumped into the workforce working odd jobs, while working as a freelance portrait and illustration artist and art director for his first start-up company, State of the Art: ATLANTA, inc. This company consisted of a small team of artists who worked to produce solo and collaborative art exhibitions, sell art, create video content for artists, throw fundraising events, musical performances, independent film screenings, and networking events for college students and young adults in Atlanta’s local art community. This era lasted from 2014-2017 before hanging up his art director hat and starting his journey into body art and tattoo design.
From January 2018, Lanous began to dive into the world of tattoo artistry by learning and apprenticing under famous tattoo artist, Melvin Todd at City of Ink. After leaving City of Ink, he was able to move up in his tattoo career to working along side tattoo legend, Miya Bailey at Peters Street Station in 2022.
While working at Peters Street Station, Lanous was able to help with curating and producing solo and collaborative art exhibitions, assisting in leadership roles with new up and coming tattoo apprentices, and working as a team to bring community and awareness to the creative space.
Atlanta has been a creative safe haven and the future is full of opportunities to create tattoos, portraits, murals, paintings, films, literature, etc. along side some of the greatest artists the world has yet to see. Lanous Wright II is still working on telling his story through all mediums of art and creativity, in hopes to inspire his son, his family, his city, and the world around him.
